Purpose
To glorify Christ in local communities by working together to raise
awareness of His world-wide initiative in the building of His Church in
preparation of His imminent return.
Who we are:
The International Fellowship of Missions Conferences (IFMC) is a
fellowship of autonomous missions conferences operating in and ministering
to our local community (our community and surrounding area). As an
association of peers, we recognize that each festival is uniquely named,
designed and structured to fit within the culture of their given community
and maintains accountability to its own membership (the local church
community).
Definition of a Missions Conference
A Missions Festival is defined as a family-orientated event that is
designed to educate, motivate and mobilize the local church community
towards Christian missions.
Activities:
While the members of IFMC will not be accountable to one another, it has
been recognized that there is immense advantage to cooperate with one
another by:
-
Encouraging one another
-
Praying for one another
-
Communicating with one another concerning festival dates (to avoid
conflicts) and share other information concerning speakers, facilities,
etc. in order that we continually strive to offer our best for God
within our local community.
-
Discussing best practices
-
Advising and counselling each other
-
Encourage and assist new conferences as they strive to be established in
their local community
These activities will happen on an on-going basis throughout the year via
a variety of communication methodologies, and once a year we will gather
at one of our festival sites. These sites will be determined on a
rotation basis.
Membership Requirements:
Each organization must be a Missions Festival as defined above. Members
will be encouraged to identify themselves as a member of IFMC on their
website and in any other appropriate location. At this point in time,
there will be no annual dues to belong to this association; however
members are expected to sign the adopted statement of faith and make their
best effort to send a representative to the annual meeting.
Representatives should be officially appointed by the member
organization's board in order to have the authority to speak on their
behalf.
Meetings and Officers:
We will meet on an annual basis, preceding one of the participating
member’s conferences. The locations for these meetings will be rotated
among the members and agreed to in advance. The host city for the annual
meeting will provide a person who will act as the chair of IFMC until the
conclusion of that meeting, and then the duties will be passed to the next
host city.
